Instructed Eucharist

Many of the people who have joined Christ Church in recent years did not grow up in the Episcopal tradition. Those of us who did don't always realize how unique and, in some ways, inaccessible, liturgical worship can be those who have not encountered it until adulthood. Like all true rituals, there is much about the order of our Sunday morning service that defies easy explanation or intellectual understanding - as the blurb at the top of our bulletin notes, liturgy works on us as much as we consciously engage it, which is a mysterious truth for most modern people (whether familiar with it or not) to appreciate. With this in mind, we'll be offering an "Instructed Eucharist" on Sundays May 5th and 12th, wherein we slow down the liturgy and offer reflections upon each movement as we make our way through worship. The commentary will replace the sermon on these Sundays, and we'll only "instruct" half of the liturgy each day so as to still be able to engage part of the service more organically. This is a great opportunity for you to ask those questions about worship you've always wanted to ask! Please take a moment to complete this form so we can respond to the specific areas of curiosity present within the parish as we prepare for these Sundays.
