| For service opportunities, visit our Help
Wanted page. Crisis Support is provided for people in
diverse ways. The Clergy stand ready to provide pastoral care, counseling and sacramental
ministry, and encourage people to call in times of need. Lay Eucharist Ministers
take communion to shut-ins and those in hospitals. A Lay Pastoral Care group
provides the support of a loving, listening presence to those with special need. Home
Ministry brings meals to families where there is illness, offers sick-room
supplies from a well-stocked storeroom at the church, and provides a gracious reception
for friends and families after funerals. A Grief Support group meets
monthly to offer support in dealing with losses of any type.
Women of Christ Church publish and sell Seasons, our church's
cookbook. Profits from the sale of the book benefit Outreach, specifically Community
Services Agency. The concept and organization of the book center on our glorious windows
and their theme of following both the natural and liturgical seasons.
Outreach to the community is an important aspect of our ministry at
Christ Church. Both financial and volunteer support are provided to Community Services
Agency, Community Health Awareness Council, Friends Outside, Samaritan Counseling Center,
Peninsula Habitat for Humanity, Episcopal Charities Appeal, Episcopal Chaplaincy at
Stanford Hospital, and many others.
The Alpha Omega Rotating Homeless Shelter is at Christ Church for a
month each year.
Votive Lights Prayer Chain and Order of St. Luke (Los
Altos Chapter) are available to offer prayers and intercessions for healing. |
